About Us
The Inclusive Family Alliance (IFA) is a registered organisation dedicated to championing Inclusion , supporting and empowering families of children with disability especially families of children with cerebral palsy.
The IFA provides tailor-made information pack for families of children with disabilities in Ghana, often referring parents to the appropriate and suitable support system or services.
The Inclusive Family Alliance is also concerned with policy issues and uses the media (Both social Media and Mainstream media) to create awareness about issues that families of children with disabilities face in Ghana.
IFA hosts a WhatsApp online platform that has over 400 participants mostly parents of children with various disabilities but also has members who are medical doctors, psychologists, therapists and engages in peer counselling, experience sharing, encouragements and professional counselling.
The Inclusive Family Alliance ensures that parents and family members of children or persons with disabilities have access to quality emotional support with a programme dubbed Life Beyond Diagnosis
Parents Training
The Inclusive Family Alliance focuses on training the parents including members of the extended family to understand their child’s disability and position themselves to become effective and efficient advocates for their children and other children with disabilities in the society
The IFA is also open to partnering and training stakeholders including organisations on how to develop suitable inclusive policies such as work place policies to support parent caregivers at the workplace as well as make policy suggestions to the government to ensure a more inclusive society.
The Inclusive Family Alliance until the 4th of April 2025 operated as Special Mothers Project (SMP) started operations around July 2015 it was officially given the certificate of incorporation and certificate to commence operations on 31st March 2016 by Ghana’s Registrar-General’s Department and further certified to operate by the Department of Social Welfare
